Louth Wind Orchestra Reviews

"I love playing in Louth Wind Orchestra! We get to play lots of different styles of pieces and everyone in the orchestra are always so friendly."

Below are reviews that have been submitted in regards to public performances as well as comments from members of the orchestra.

"I really enjoy playing in Louth Wind Orchestra because, apart from playing in a brass band whilst still in my teens, nearly all my wind playing has been in small groups. It is great to be part of a large unit again, playing the low parts on Baritone Sax and of course meeting other players. Also, we keep learning new music to play guided by David's baton and patience!"

"I don't know how I'd live without this orchestra!"

"Well, what an amazing musical evening we had last night!  A wonderful programme with so very challenging pieces of music that were played brilliantly!  A big thank you to everyone."

"Having joined the Louth Wind Orchestra late - due to leaving another band - I was made to feel very welcome and I feel my playing has improved and will continue to do so with the right encouragement. Lovely band, lovely members and fantastic Musical Director!"

"I am just emailing to say how much my friend and I enjoyed the concert on Friday night.  It was nothing less than excellent!  May you go from strength to strength!"

"We wanted to thank you for your amazing performance on our stage yesterday, you had lots of positive comments and helped us entertain many visitors both old and new to the town. Thank you again!"

"Considering this is an orchestra with different standards of talent, they certainly put on one hell of a show. I had the pleasure of seeing the group at the North Cotes Christmas concert and they were nothing less than brilliant. David obviously works hard with all the members of the band from the beginners to the most experienced."

"I love the way the experienced, able players mix happily with those finding their feet. David is both exacting and forgiving in rehearsals, improving our playing and getting the best out of us, gently and always with good humour. Great music, good company and plenty of gigging opportunities."

"Everyone gives you a warm welcome - even if you haven't played for a long time - and no audition is needed."

"David and his orchestra got up and gave a good performance at the Louth Christmas Fair, despite the weather being cold and damp. Put a smile on many faces."
